"I am a 36 year old fire fighter from Washington State. I began lifting free weights as a teenager. Traditional lifts such as bench press, squat, etc. were staples of my programs over the years. I was able to achieve great gains in strength. Unfortunately for me, this strength did not translate to improved athleticism (not an area that I was ever gifted in). When I reached my 30s, I developed a number of joint problems, and I was actually diagnosed with arthritis in my hips. Two years ago, I had the good fortune of meeting Scott Sonnon. My whole outlook on fitness changed. I have incorporated intuflow, tacfit metabolic conditioning, and psara yoga into my daily practice over a four day cycle. My joints feel better than they have in years. I am an "industrial athlete", and my ability to do my job is better due to increased functional strength. I find that multi-planar movements found in circular strength training develop better overall athleticism. My aerobic capacity has soared, and my body fat percentage has dropped significantly since I started doing the twenty minute tacfit workouts. We have clubbells at our fire stations, and many of my co-workers have achieved similar results. Each individual has to find what works best for them, but I am definitely a convert.
